Entry: More Irish music in Israel Sunday, February 06, 2005

It was the Murphy's Irish festival in Israel again last week, and we saw 2 groups who came over...

On the Friday night we returned to Hemdat Yamim to hear North Cregg. The music was excellent - but we were very disappointed with the place this time. They packed us in, and the service was lousy. It took over an hour to get a drink, and Carol didn't get her toasted sandwich until half an hour after that.
Also, it seemed that half the crowd had come just to drink and talk - throughout the performance!
We'll be going elsewhere next year.

On Saturday night we went to Raanana and heard a group called T'eada. This was in a municipal auditorium - unfortunately only half full with an older crowd. The group are all youngsters, and they have a great sound!

Let's see if I get round to writing anything new before next year's Irish festival. Maybe our daughter's wedding in the summer will prove inspirational.
Actually, I could already write about the search for a location for the wedding... Maybe next week after we will have seen about a dozen "Event Gardens"
